The 4SYS BLAST Boot (Fragmentation and Blast Resistant Demining boot) is a lightweight using advance ballistic materials that maximize protection while reducing the overall weight of the equipment.
The 4SYS boot delivers all the function of a modern combat boot, while providing advanced blast and shrapnel protection. Its value is in allowing personnel to operate as normal but with the confidence of state-of-the-art, energy-absorbing protection—significantly reducing the risk of disabling foot injuries in high-threat environments. Cooperation with The Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College (UK). 4SYS developed a new generation of demining boot with enhanced performance in mitigating injury due to explosions. Results have been obtained with combination of innovative materials and structures inserted into the boot’s sole and offered enhanced protection over the standard combat boot in loading commensurate to that seen when in contact with explosive devices.
The 4SYS BLAST Anti-Mine Boot sets a new standard in operational footwear. Its core innovation is a mix of design and material combined to provide the requested performances.
This boot structure remains rigid in normal use and collapse under rapid high-force impact—effectively absorbing blast energy before it injures the foot or leg.
-Targeted injury mitigation: Tuned to collapse at 8 kN(reaching within 3 ms), representing only a 10% probability of major heel injury (per NATO military standards for a 35-year-old male). Everyday forces from running or jumping are safely accommodated, while disabling trauma from blasts is minimized.

Shrapnel-arrest system: The sole incorporates a shrapnel arrest structure engineered to intercept blast-driven fragments, so they do not penetrate to the foot.

Enhanced stand-off: The foot is separated from the ground by sole thickness 2.5 times greater than a conventional combat boot, greatly reducing the effect of initial blast forces.
